ABOUT
Slow Art is an experiential event of art discovery. The event creates a mindful space and time, which is fuelled by participants looking at art slowly with a meditative approach. The goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing. In today’s fast moving world the gallery is inviting you to stop and take a moment to discover your own unique relationship with art, your own senses and experiences.
WHY SLOW?
When people are in silence and look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries.
A lot of people discover that art observation helps to rest one’s mind from the everyday tension. Another important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without an expert (or expertise). And that’s an exciting discovery. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to nurture the relationship with any kind of art in the future.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Participants look at five works of art for 6-8 minutes each, in total silence. Afterwards, participants are invited to share their thoughts and discoveries with each other. The sharing is moderated by a representative of the gallery, but that is not obligatory. The gallery provides wine, tea & coffee for the discussion part of the event, and can recommend some lovely places near by to continue the group discussion after the event over lunch or dinner.
