Painting ‘Stories Of The Garden’ is a part of the exhibition project dedicated to Lithuanian re-emigrants from South America. It is also the story of my grandparents, who brought a sense of freedom to post-Stalin Soviet Lithuania. This experience of joy and freedom of life, as well as a critical look at the environment, was passed on. In the garden, grandparents and their friends of fate would move into the past, discuss the present, and talk about what was unknown and beyond the Iron Wall. Many, many stories had been told then.
